Going through some shit right now… health wise of course. About four years ago, my oncologist told me that if not for something accidental, I would die from cancer. At least I knew, some say it was wrong of him to say it but I appreciated it.
I had a M.R.I. done a couple of months ago and there were two dark spots on my right kidney. The plan was to have me go in for another one in a few months to see if they were getting any larger. About two months ago, my tit was sore one day and I ignored it. It still hadn’t gone away after a week. Last week, I guess you could say that I gave myself a male breast exam and I found a lump. Yesterday, I went into my doctor to have him look at it and he said that I need a mammogram and an ultrasound right away. I am waiting for them to call me back this afternoon so I can get all this checked out. I’ll also be getting another M.R.I. this week or next to look at my kidneys and other stuff in there.
Thanksgiving, everybody! I would say "Happy Thanksgiving," but who am I to tell you what kind of holiday to have? Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas...Stop bossing us around, generic greetings. If someone wants to run fish hooks through their genitals and chew used tampons on a national holiday, that's their right. But that's my thing. You do something else.
What I am thankful for...
This being the week of Thanksgiving, I am obliged to write about it.
The obvious thing to do would be to write an ironic article about how Thanksgiving is rooted in the massacre of innocent, indigenous people, but I think we've all grown tired of that message. Besides, I think white people have 
made this land better than a bunch of peace pipe-smoking buffalo-huggers ever would have. Sure, they would be living a contented life in perfect balance with nature, but how many roller coasters and porn shops do you think they would've constructed by now?
So instead of farting out some heavy-handed, half-assed attempt at satire drowned in the all too common snarkiness and sarcasm of the day, I would like to share with you a sincere, heartfelt list of things that I'm thankful for. Having said that, I will be avoiding the "thankful" cliches. Family, friends, blah yada Mexican. This Thanksgiving, I would like to show my appreciation for some things that always get overlooked on this holiday.
Politics - I believe 99.9% and the other .1% of the population is stupid, but thanks to politics we all get to pretend we're really smart. It doesn't matter how ignorant or misinformed you are, if you've seen more than 30 seconds of programming on CNN or 
FOX News you are a fucking genius. The unemployed guy doing beat poetry who got kicked out of community college and is sleeping on his ex-girlfriend's couch? He knows exactly what to do about global warming. That alcoholic with the "Support our troops" magnet on his '89 Ford who just did a month for assaulting his wife? He'll tell you how we should handle Iran. Thanks, politics. I had no idea idiots were so brilliant.
My penis - I don't think I need to explain this one. It's just awesome.
That is what I'm thankful for. Now I just need to figure out who I'm thanking, since God didn't give me any of that shit. Happy Thanksgiving, kids.
I know I’ve said it many times, but Chili’s is one of my favorite spots for quick bite or some good drinks with friends. I almost always order a Margarita Presidente to start off. It tastes so good and goes down smooth. And they serve it in a cool shaker too! lol… The secret to recreating this recipe is to use the name brands listed in the recipe. Enjoy responsibly!1 1/4 ounces Sauzas Commemorativo Tequila
1/2 ounce Presidente brandy
1/2 ounce Cointreau liqueur
4 ounces sour mix
Splash of lime juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker glass with crushed ice. Shake very well and serve in a salt rimmed margarita glass with some ice.
Serves 1
November has been a strange month… well, so was October. This Halloween was the first time since I moved to Florida that I did not go in costume to my favorite bar. Last year, I made quite an entrance with my costume and was even honored with a first place finish in the costume contest! 8)
This year was kind a somber Halloween for me, as my friend Doug and I always went and planned our costumes together. We would talk in front of everyone weeks before the event and tell each other that we would not be there for the party due to the fact that our outlandish cousins were flying into town, Goldie and Philopia.
So as you can imagine by now, in the spirit of Pat Schaefer and some of his costumes, we went in drag! :-X
Well, Doug (aka Goldie) passed away in his sleep of a massive heart attack six months ago and I had to call Philopia and tell her not to come this year. It’s hard to explain, but when someone passes away, even after you had some time to let it sink in, you just can’t get in the swing of things.
That was one way to screw up my favorite holiday. I am sure next year that I will be back in the mood.
On another note… this website didn’t take back off the way it used to be. I guess that I was hoping that it would be like the showboat after it was destroyed by the so called, tornato. Rebuilt and sailing away.
My other website and business venture, http://www.customizthat.com has started taking off and I am pleased with the web traffic and sales so far. It still has paid for itself, that will take some time. But if it continues chugging forward, I should be able to keep up with the payments and generate a little change in my Medicare coffer.
